Hello friends. Spring is officially here. The calendar tells me so. Today is a cold spring day in Chicago. Lots of art focuses on the renewal of spring as something to celebrate. And usually in spring my spirits are lifted, but sometimes, I experience a moment of missing winter. Not the frigid temps and winds and snows but the mindset of winter. Celebrating Fat Tuesday, Observing Lent
Hey there! Let the good times roll! It’s Fat Tuesday. I’m making gumbo and I bought a king cake so we’ll have a little Mardi Gras celebration tonight. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. I won’t get ashes. I’m not a practicing Catholic. I do like some of the rituals and practices though.
