Yesterday, June 2, a full moon shone. According to the The Old Farmer’s Almanac, June's full moon is the Full Strawberry Moon and got this name because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe (where strawberries aren't native).
