Jan Bottiglieri (“Why You Knit” and “Oliver”) has a new poem, “A Way of Happening, A Mouth” in the latest issue of Atticus Review, the weekly online journal whose tagline is “six degrees left of literature.” I can pretty much guarantee you will think of this poem next time you see a butterfly.
I have a short-short (“By the time”) in the latest issue of Eclectic Flash, which is available on the web or in print. Eclectic Flash describes itself as “dedicated to the best flash literature available on the internet, regardless of style or genre. Poetry, prose, fiction, nonfiction, short script essay, experimental, literary, horror, science fiction, contemporary, postmodern–it doesn’t matter. If it’s fewer than 1,000 words, you can find it here.” The first issue came out in January 2010. You can follow Eclectic Flash on Facebook for regular updates. The subject of my short-short is touchy, so lest any of you think otherwise, let me assure you it is fiction.
If you are a fan of T. C. Boyle (“Hopes Rise”), you may want to read “Exploration and Egomaniania: An Interview with T. C. Boyle” which appears in the Summer/Fall edition of Sycamore Review (23(2):63-75). T. C. Boyle sat down with the journal’s fiction editor, Conor Broughan, before a live audience at Purdue University in March 2011. Since 1988, Sycamore Review has been published twice a year by Purdue University.
