As usual contributors to Solace in So Many Words have been busy writing and publishing. Susan Mahan has two poems "Voiceover" and "Cabbage Days" in U.M.Ph! Since May, two of her poems with Boston themes have been hanging in Boston City Hall --- they are "Mayday" and "Getting Lucky." Beside the City of Angels: A Long Beach Poetry Festival
A highlight of the recent trip to Long Beach was meeting Donna Hilbert ("Flowers" and"In Quintana Roo"). She teaches weekly poetry workshops and has for years (with many loyal students). Gatsby Books in Long Beach–sublime!
Our trip to Long Beach was a definite success and a blast to boot. The reading at Gatsby Books went well as we suspected it would since Sean Moor, who owns Gatsby Books, and Alisha Attell, who coordinates the events there, were so enthusiastic about our coming to read there.
