\"\"<\/a>Look what came in the mail today! \u00a0In case you haven’t heard, on Saturday, June 23 Solace in So Many Words<\/strong><\/em> was awarded the Silver Medal<\/strong> in the anthology category by ForeWord Reviews<\/a><\/strong><\/em> at a ceremony and reception during the American Library Association’s annual conference in Anaheim. \u00a0Weighed Words was unable to attend; but I want to make sure to say thanks to Chris Fisher<\/strong> who reviewed Solace in So Many Words<\/strong><\/em> on April 28, 2011 for\u00a0ForeWord Reviews<\/em>, and to Kimber Bilby <\/strong>(Awards and Marketing Coordinator),<\/strong> Victoria Sutherland <\/strong>(Founder and Publisher)\u00a0and Julie Eakin<\/strong> (Editor-in-Chief) of ForeWord Reviews<\/em>. \u00a0If you would like to re-read the review, I’ve linked it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

ForeWord Reviews<\/em> was established in 1998 to bring increased attention to the literary achievements of independent publishers and their authors. It is the only magazine showcasing reviews and title trends exclusively from this market. Librarians and booksellers qualify for free subscriptions and renewals.<\/p>\n

Solace in So Many Words<\/em> was one of\u00a0\u00a0209 Book of the Year Award <\/strong>winners in 54 categories. These books, representing the best independently published works from 2011, were selected by a panel of librarian and bookseller judges.\u00a0Judges considered each book entry\u2019s: editorial excellence; intent of book met by author; originality of subject matter; accuracy; author credentials; and professional packaging.<\/p>\n

Victoria Sutherland spoke at the awards ceremony and announced the winners.\u201cAfter fifteen years of recognizing great books with this award process, I still have an enormous sense of admiration for the title assortment and I\u2019m so thankful for the help of our readership, booksellers and librarians who help us sort out the top choices based on their experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n
