Catherine Goulet<\/strong>, Chairperson of the 2012 Next Generation Indie Book Awards<\/strong>, sent me my picture from the Gala Awards reception June 4 at the Rose Room of The Plaza Hotel <\/strong>in New York City.\u00a0Solace in So Many Words<\/em><\/strong> is the gold medal winner in the anthology category.<\/p>\n

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards<\/a><\/strong> is the largest not-for-profit book awards program in the world. In its fifth year of operation, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards was established to recognize and honor the most exceptional independently published books in 60 different categories, for the year, and is presented by Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group<\/a><\/strong> in cooperation with Marilyn Allen<\/strong> of Allen O’Shea Literary Agency<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 2012 judges included expert editors, designers, marketing gurus, book buyers, literary agents, book reviewers, publishing executives, writing professors, successful published authors, indie book publishing advocates and other leaders in the industry. \u00a0This year more 60 category winners received a gold medal and $100 cash prize. Thanks to Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group<\/strong> and Next Generation Indie Book Awards for awarding Solace in So Many Words<\/em><\/strong> with a gold medal \u2013 it is nice to be recognized! \u00a0(Also big thanks to Shelley Anderson<\/strong> of Next Generation Indie Books Awards.)<\/p>\n

At the reception I had a chance to talk with two women from the editorial department of the American Cancer Society<\/strong>, whose book American Cancer Society Complete Guide to Family Caregiving, Second Edition<\/em>, by Julia S. Bucher, Peter S. Houts, and Terri Ades was a finalist.\u00a0 Shout out to Rebecca Teaff<\/strong> and Amy Rovere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
