\"\"<\/a>This beauty of a decoration is from my bowling partners. We bowled Saturday night and also had our league Christmas party, and for years now we have exchanged gifts. This year we received this gorgeous present and it fits the theme since our team name is da Bears<\/strong>. I don’t think I’ll always leave it on the mantel as I am afraid it might scare young children, but I love it, I do. Sunday I woke up to an email from editor\u00a0Greg Weiss<\/strong> saying\u00a0my poem about bowling “Mash Note to a Great Sport”<\/strong><\/a> is up on the Intentional Walk Review<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Intentional Walk<\/em><\/strong> describes itself as “the only literary journal devoted to the poetry of sports\u2013competition, practice, spectatorship, and following them from afar. From antiquity to the present, we\u2019re interested in anything that involves competition and\/or recreation\u2013from yoga to boxing, checkers to basketball.”<\/p>\n

The December also features these poems: \u201cBaseball\u201d by Peter Siedlecki <\/strong> and \u201cUniversity Games\u201d\u00a0 by Vernon Wildy<\/strong> and \u201cFootball is the Only Game\u201d by G. \u00a0David Schwartz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Maybe you have some sports writing, here\u2019s what Intentional Walk Review <\/strong><\/em> is looking for as far as submissions (these guidelines are lifted right from its site).<\/p>\n

Taste:<\/strong> No restrictions as to form or style, and we take a broad view of \u201csports\u201d\u2013children or adults, professionals or amateurs, participants or fans, we\u2019re interested in all of it.<\/p>\n

Nuts and bolts:<\/strong> Please submit no more than five poems as an email attachment to poetry at intentionalwalkreview.com. Your name, phone number, street and email addresses should appear on each page. Cover letters\/bios are optional. Submissions are accepted year-round, and we\u2019ll respond via email.<\/p>\n

Update<\/strong>: As of December 2012, Intentional Walk also accepts sports-related creative nonfiction.<\/p>\n
