In this other country, &#8220;. . . There is no town, only \/ fields of long grass blowing in the wind \/ and beyond the wind the gray mountains.&#8221; It ends, &#8220;. . . . The wind kept prodding \/ at my back as though determined \/ to push me away from where I was, \/ fearful, perhaps, I would come to rest.&#8221; It&#8217;s a must-read. I picture the landscape to be much like that described by Phil in &#8220;Walking in Alicante,&#8221; which is in <em><strong>Solace in So Many Words<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Donna Hilbert<\/strong> recently attended the <strong>San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival<\/strong> and posted on FB a picture of her latest book, <em><strong>The Congress of Luminous Bodies,<\/strong><\/em> which will be out soon from <strong>Aortic Books<\/strong>. I&#8217;ll \u00a0write more about this in a later post. \u00a0If you&#8217;d like to read an <strong>interview with Donna<\/strong>,\u00a0she was <strong>&#8220;The Next Big Thing&#8221;<\/strong> and discussed the book and other topics with <strong>Lorene Delaney-Ullman<\/strong>, author of the poetry collection <em>Camouflage<\/em> on <strong><a title=\"The Next Big Thing with Donna Hilbert on Goodreads\" href=\"http:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/author_blog_posts\/3748273-the-next-big-thing\" target=\"_blank\">Goodreads<\/a>.<\/strong> While I was looking up information on <strong>Donna<\/strong>, I came across the touching poem called <a title=\"Where It Happened by Donna Hilbert in Silver Birch \" href=\"http:\/\/silverbirchpress.wordpress.com\/tag\/donna-hilbert\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;<strong>Where It Happened<\/strong>,&#8221;<\/a> which appeared in <strong>Silver Birch Press<\/strong> last September. I can&#8217;t remember if I already mentioned it, but the poem, one that describes a seaside experience, is worth citing again. One more thing, <strong>&#8220;From a Rhizome&#8221; <\/strong>by <strong>Donna<\/strong> appears on <strong><a title=\"From a Rhizome by Donna Hilbert\" href=\"http:\/\/yourdailypoem.com\/listpoem.jsp?poem_id=1379\" target=\"_blank\">Your Daily Poem <\/a><\/strong>&#8211;it is a good &#8220;waiting for spring&#8221; poem.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural issue of the new journal for the <strong>Chicago Center for Literature and Photography<\/strong> just came out. <strong>Jason Pettus<\/strong> launched the <em><strong><a title=\"CCLaP Journal\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cclapcenter.com\/journal\/\" target=\"_blank\">CCLaP Journal<\/a><\/strong><\/em> February 19. Eclectic, funny and smart, the journal features all types of writing and photography.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cclapcenter.com\/journal\/cclapjournal01cover.jpg\" border=\"1\" alt=\"CCLaP Journal #1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a quiet weekend here and a perfect time to post.
