I love Chicago but I don’t love the politics, the gun violence, the segregation and probably a few other things if I thought about it some more. But this past weekend I forgot about the negatives and rediscovered my love for Chicago. That’s because it was Chicago Architecture Foundation’s <\/strong><\/a>Open House Chicago<\/strong><\/a>. This free city-wide event has been around for three years now, and each year, I find something more to love about Chicago.\u00a0 Plus, the event is so well run and all the volunteers are so nice, I find more to love about the Chicago Architecture Foundation too.<\/p>\n

This past Sunday I visited Testa Produce<\/strong> in the Bridgeport \/ Back of the Yards neighborhood and then went to Hyde Park to\u00a0 KAM Isaiah Israel <\/strong>(which is across the street from President Obama’s house) and Powhatan Apartments<\/strong> on Chicago Beach Drive.\u00a0 I had only my I-phone camera so the shots aren’t great.\u00a0 If you want to see some great photographs of Chicago’s architecture, check out Kathy Buckland’s<\/strong> photos in Glimpse of Solace<\/strong><\/a>. She also took part in Open House Chicago and visited sites downtown.<\/p>\n
