\"\"<\/a>This week the weather is miserably cold in Chicago. Schools and businesses are closed. Anyone who can hibernate is hibernating.<\/p>\n

I am happy to feature photographs by a new contributor: Kevin Nance<\/strong>. If you recognize his name, it may be because you read his reviews in the Chicago Tribune<\/strong><\/em>, or his contributions to Poets & Writers<\/em><\/strong> and other publications. That’s how I knew him. But then through posts on FB and Linked-in, I saw his photographs and admired them.\u00a0 Now I follow him on Tumblr <\/strong><\/a>and Twitter<\/strong><\/a> too.\u00a0 I am grateful to Kevin<\/strong> for letting me share his work here.<\/p>\n

Posted as a guest blog today is a poem by Laura Rodley<\/strong>, a writer whose poem “Resurrection”<\/a> won a Pushcart Prize<\/strong>. It was originally published in The New Verse News<\/strong><\/em>.<\/a> Publishing a new poem daily, The New Verse News<\/em> presents politically progressive poetry on current events and topical issues. Submissions are sought<\/span> so check it out.<\/p>\n

You may recognize Laura’s <\/strong> name from previous posts on this site (such as, “Fresh from the Vine,”<\/a> “Coyotes,”<\/a> and”Montague City Road<\/a>“)–I am always happy (and proud)\u00a0 to share her work.<\/p>\n
