\"Photo<\/a>Hello.<\/strong> I missed writing to you. But a project came up that needed my immediate attention. Besides, I haven\u2019t much to report.<\/p>\n

To tell you the truth, socializing has taken up a lot of time recently. I can always talk myself into going out because human relations are what count in this lifetime. So why say no to a nice lunch?<\/p>\n

No doubt, you heard about the shooting in Kalamazoo, MI. Elizabeth Kerlikowske<\/strong> (who wrote two poems in Solace in So Many Words<\/strong><\/em>) has written about the tragedy in her hometown. The poem is called “It’s Kalamazoo’s Turn, the Facebook Post Says.”\u00a0<\/strong> It appeared on the NewVerse News<\/em><\/strong> site February 23<\/strong>;\u00a0 here is the link<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

I received an email from Ralph Murre<\/strong> the other day; after four years he is stepping away from Little Eagle RE\/VERSE<\/a><\/strong>. The site has published 646 poems by 202 poets and been visited over 84,000 times.\u00a0 (Little Eagle’s RE \/ VERSE<\/em><\/strong> will remain on line as a resource; it just won\u2019t be updated.)<\/p>\n

Thank-you Ralph Murre<\/strong>. I was a little late to the party, but I do appreciate that he gave one of my poems<\/a> a second chance and I am grateful to be able to read so much wonderful work by others.<\/p>\n

Patty Somlo<\/strong> has a new story out that will trasport you to rainy Granada<\/strong>.\u00a0 It’s called “For the Smell of Rain”<\/strong> and appears in the February 23 issue of <\/a>Litro<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday is the deadline to submit your sonnets to the 2016 Poetry Challenge<\/strong>, sponsored by Highland Park Poetry.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

While I am talking about submitting, I wanted to encourage you to shoot for the moon once in a while.<\/p>\n

Why not submit to The New Yorker<\/strong><\/em><\/a>?<\/p>\n

Or Poetry<\/strong><\/em><\/a>?<\/p>\n

Or McSweeney\u2019s<\/strong><\/em><\/a>?<\/p>\n

Go for it.<\/p>\n

I haven\u2019t had a lot of time for photography or gotten many good pics. Here are a few that reflect recent activities.<\/p>\n
