I got an email from Lummox Poetry Anthology #5<\/em><\/strong>, which is looking for work on the theme of \u201cism” or “isms.” Examples cited include: Alcoholism, Capitalism, Patriotism, Buddhism, Globalism,\u00a0 Conformism, Masochism, Regionalism, Commercialism, Pessimism, Mannerism, Egotism, Dogmatism, Realism, etc, etc.<\/p>\n

Lummox #5<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 is also looking for illustrations, collages, artwork of all kinds. Guidelines can be found at t<\/strong>his link<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/a> There you will also find info on this year’s Lummox Poetry Contest<\/strong>, which offers a $200 cash prize plus 40 copies of a chapbook that Lummox Press<\/strong> will publish for the winner, plus a mini feature in Lummox #5<\/strong><\/em>. There is a $15 reading fee.\u00a0 The winner and runners up will be selected by poet and teacher, Judith Skillman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We just passed the deadline to submit our taxes here in the US, so Elizabeth Kerlikowske\u2019s<\/strong> poem “Math Anxiety”<\/strong> <\/a>in Autumn Sky Poetry Daily<\/strong><\/em> seems quite apt.<\/p>\n

“Between the sheets”<\/strong> is on display at Highland Park Library<\/strong> so I drove up there to see it. Thanks to Highland Park Library, Highland Park Poetry, <\/strong>and Illinois Poetry Society<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last weekend I went on my first bird walk (thanks to Tom Lally<\/strong> and Birding at Bunker Hill<\/strong><\/a>). I saw birds but couldn\u2019t capture them on film; I share with you\u2019re the pictures I got.<\/p>\n
