There’s been lots of socializing lately — a retirement party, dinners out, a play (“Mary Page Marlow”<\/strong> <\/em>by Tracy Letts<\/strong> at Steppenwolf<\/strong>), end of the year parties,\u00a0 birthdays, workshops etc. Hope your calendar is full of fun.<\/p>\n

\"24796296\"<\/a>Congrats to Joe Meno<\/a><\/strong>.<\/a> His novel won the adult fiction book of the year award from the Society of Midland Authors<\/strong><\/a>. The award ceremony just happened at the Cliff Dwellers Club in Chicago, a place I want to go to just because of its name. What images do you conjure when you hear “cliff dwellers?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

T. C. Boyle<\/a><\/strong> just reviewed Richard Russo’s<\/strong> latest book Nobody’s Fool<\/em> in the New York Times<\/em>— read that review here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Don’t forget Patty Somlo’s<\/strong> new book The First to Disappear<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>is out from is out from Spuyten Duyvil<\/strong><\/a>. \"firsttodisappear\"<\/a><\/p>\n
