\"guard-at-the-door-1-ellen-wade-beals-2016\"<\/a>Happy Monday.<\/strong> In the States it\u2019s Columbus Day, a holiday. In Chicago it is bright and crisp, a beautiful fall day.<\/p>\n

This weekend I did some work on my photos of Ireland. I\u2019ll share some with you; I took too many. Unsure of my abilities, I often took the same shot twice or three times to make sure I got one good photo (I guess that\u2019s what happens when you are still learning).<\/p>\n

Ireland still calls to me.<\/strong> I don\u2019t think that was my last trip there. But before I can return, I have to pay for this past trip (ouch) and write my thank-you notes.<\/p>\n

Americans joke that we\u2019ll move to another country should a certain candidate win the upcoming election. If you\u2019re thinking of moving to Ireland, here is the website<\/a> you should consult.<\/p>\n

I got this information from Irish Central,<\/a><\/strong> a daily electronic newsletter that has lots of ads. Sometimes its content is worthwhile. For instance, the October 5 issue had an article by James O\u2019Shea:<\/strong> \u201cA beautiful poem for the departed adapted by Irish monks.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

The poem is \u201cDeath is Nothing at All\u201d<\/strong> by Henry Scott-Holland.<\/strong> It is beautiful.<\/p>\n

\nat the little jokes we enjoyed together.
\nPlay, smile, think of me. Pray for me.

\nthat it always was.

\nWithout the trace of a shadow on it.<\/p>\n

Life means all that it ever meant.
\nIt is the same that it ever was.
\nThere is absolute unbroken continuity.
\nWhy should I be out of mind
\nbecause I am out of sight?<\/p>\n

I am but waiting for you.
\nFor an interval.
\nSomewhere. Very near.
\nJust around the corner.<\/p>\n

All is well.<\/p>\n

Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.<\/p>\n
