\"IMG_9527\"<\/a>Hey there.<\/strong> Can you believe February is almost over? It\u2019s a short month and here in Chicago we experienced an especially Spring-y spell. I\u2019ve had the cold congestion crud that\u2019s being passed around these days. Hope you have been staying healthy.<\/p>\n

Here are some unique sounding calls for submissions, etc.<\/p>\n

Donuts.<\/strong> That\u2019s the subject of an upcoming anthology by Terrapin Press, A Poetry Press<\/strong>. Details here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ella Fitzgerald.<\/strong> The Ella @ 100 anthology<\/strong> is looking for a few more pieces. But act quickly because the deadline is February 28<\/strong>. Details here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Review Review<\/strong><\/em> seeks Reviewers<\/strong> and Interviewers<\/strong>. Details here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Are you intrigued by The Submerging Writer Fellowship?<\/strong> Details here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I had a short persona poem “On-the-job training”<\/strong> in Work Literary Magazine<\/strong><\/em>. You can read it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_9605\"<\/a>Also I had a poem \u201cMorning Announcements\u201d<\/strong> in The Offbeat<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>(Volume 17). It\u2019s put out by Michigan State University and it\u2019s pretty sweet.<\/p>\n

I haven\u2019t read it cover to cover yet, but so far the poems that really got to me include Jennifer Clark\u2019s \u201cJob Posting: Saint\u201d<\/strong> — here\u2019s one line: \u201cMust command persuasive powers. Why should God listen to the cries a murderer, contrite though he may be?\u201d<\/p>\n

The poem titled \u201cFuck\u201d by Tommy Alexander<\/strong> might put off some people but the experience described is universal.<\/p>\n

\u201cCream Soda\u201d by Michelle Lore<\/strong> has little to do with pop but lots of fizz comes from her imagination.<\/p>\n
