This Monday, December 5, at 7 pm at Evanston Public Library, Main branch, Community meeting room, Evanston writers Susan Spaeth Cherry, Joan Corwin, Carol Kanter, Paula W. Peterson and Pat Rahmann along with editor Ellen Wade Beals and other contributors such as Pamela Miller, J. Scott Smith, and Kathleene Donahoo and D. J. Lachance will read various selections from Solace in So Many Words. It is at the Evanston Library, Main Library, 1703 Orrington Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201, (847) 448-8600. I hope to see you there!
Our next event, which I have dubbed “Solace on a Sunday afternoon,” is the following Sunday, December 11 at Woman Made Gallery, a place that is near and dear to my heart. We have a full lineup of readers, including Kathleen Kirk, Pamela Miller, Joan Corwin, Kathleene Donahoo, Carol Kanter, J. Scott Smith, D. I. Gray, J. D. Lachance (and me). On exhibit currently in the gallery is a group show called “Bare Essentials: Minimalism in the 20th Century” as well as solo shows by Ulli Rooney and Kathleen Waterloo. And if you want to do some holiday shopping, the Artisan Gallery will be open for one-of-a-kind gifts. So please come by Woman Made Gallery (685 N. Milwaukee, Chicago, 60642, 312-738-0400).
We just inked in our first date in 2012. It will be Thursday, January 26, at Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL 847-256-5025. Wilmette resident J. Scott Smith will read as will Joan Corwin and more contributors to be announced.
