I went to a reading of “A Light Breakfast” a unique collection that is edited by Arlyn Miller and features a sackful of great poems including ones by Solace in So Many Words contributor Carol N. Kanter (“Her Best Medicine,” “Alternative Eulogy,” “The Advanced Course”).
I was lucky enough to meet with Roberta Rubin, owner of The Book Stall (and friend to books, readers and small presses) and I just so happened to have a copy of Solace in So Many Words to show her.
So, we have a new reading event April 10, Tuesday night, 7:30 pm at The Book Stall at Chestnut Court, 566 Chestnut Street, Winnetka to celebrate the poetry (and more) in Solace in So Many Words. Carol Kanter, Pamela Miller, Joan Corwin, Teresa S. Mathes, D. J. Lachance and J. Scott Smith have already signed on as readers. To make it more of a celebration of poetry, I am going to ask them to read, in addition to their own work, a poem from the book. Did you know there are more than 50 poems in Solace in So Many Words?
Oh, BTW, if you can’t make it to the reading at The Book Stall but would like to purchase a copy of Solace in So Many Words at that store, The Book Stall now has copies on hand for sale. Yes, you can buy copies there now!
