I got to spend a few days in New York City this past weekend. I stayed quite close to Central Park. I thought of Holden Caulfield, Holly Golightly, and Macaulay Culkin. The weather was springlike. It was great to walk all over Midtown with my camera. Here’s what I got.

Your pictures look great. I’ve had a chance to visit New York two years ago. It brings out a certain nostalgia given its longer 200 year history. Also more ingrained “dirt” of an older place. Not as much as Paris or especially Rome, but nonetheless much more than chicago.
New York has a historical side which stands in contrast to a projected image of a city that never sleeps. Paris has the most artistic vibe to me personally. Paris is a city of collections mostly stolen treasures and collections of other cultures including the USA, John f Kennedy boulevard. I can’t help but think of its extensive oeuvre captured by visual artists to which I’m particularly drawn(no pun intended). Aren’t puns always intended surely as they’re disclaimed?
Nice conjuration with your lovely picts

Thanks Pete. Paris is on my bucket list. I know what you mean about NYC–Central Park has a charm from another era.
