Fair season

It’s that time of year when books are celebrated.  Here are three upcoming bookfairs.

EvanstonLitCurrently underway is the Evanston Literary Festival, which started May 4 and goes through May 14. Upcoming events include Zoe Zolbrod tonight at Evanston Public Library to launch the tour for her new book The Telling, just out from Curbside Splendor. There are also readings by Laura Kasischke (May 11)and Alexander Chee (May 12) and a program called “Writing the Next Chapter” on Friday, May 13, at 4pm, in which three local authors (Patricia Skalka, Lynn Sloan, and Joyce Burns Zeiss) who have launched second careers as novelists discuss how they made the leap and landed on their feet. Next weekend, in Highland Park, there is a Local Authors’ Book Fair, sponsored by East on Central, Highland Park Poetry, and Highland Park Public Library. It’s on Saturday, May 21, 2016, from 1-4 pm, in the Reading Room of Highland Park Public Library, 494 Laurel Ave, Highland Park. Over 30 local writers will be there.

slider1-WelcomeMessage-300x123-2June 11-12 is the 32nd annual Printer’s Row Lit Fest, the Midwest’s largest outdoor literary festival. Too many authors to list will be there, including Ana Castillo, Charles Finch, Chris Abani, Bonnie Jo Campbell, Pamela Erens, and many, many more. Get all the info here.
