It's my favorite weekend of the year. It’s not  because of Halloween. Nor Day of the Dead. It’s because it is the end of Daylight Savings--that extra hour we get when we set our clocks back is the best present of all.  I’m here to suggest you put it to productive use: Take a nap.  Crawl under the covers and think of yourself for once. Three fairs and a freebie

Hello Folks. Have you, like me, been wowed by the fall colors this year? I don't know whether the foliage is more exceptional this year than in previous ones. It seems to me it is. But then I also wonder whether it's me that's changed, gotten older and more sentimental, and more aware of the fleeting colors and birdsong and our remarkable natural world. Glimpse of Solace: In the City (Chicago Open House)

This past weekend was Open House Chicago, which is put on by the Chicago Architecture Foundation, and gives free, behind-the-scenes access to 150 buildings across Chicago.
