I first became familiar with the poetry of Susan Elbe through Kiss Me Goodnight (Syren Book Company) because we both had work in this anthology of writing by women who were girls when their mothers died.  Her poems in that book are: "My Mother Isn't Dead" and "At Mother's Bedside."  Now we are Facebook friends, and I enjoy her posts whether they are updates on the eagles' nest in Decorah, Iowa or more writerly items.  This Father's Day she posted "I Fly to My Father in Late … [Read more...]

Poems wanted for Persephone / Demeter anthology

Kathleen Aguero, who contributed  the poem "Turkey Pond: Scattering the Ashes" to Solace in So Many Words, checked in the other day. She has a poem titled in “Liberty Hotel, Boston” in  the June issue of Ocean State Review. Printers Row Lit Fest– be sure to visit Tent L!

Weighed Words will be selling Solace in So Many Words at the Printers Row Lit Fest which is this weekend, June 9 and 10, from 10 until 6 each day.  You can get all the details of events and readings at the Chicago Tribune's site.  The Lit Fest takes place on Dearborn Street from Congress to Polk Street, in the historic Printer's Row.
