07/25/2011 By Ellen Beals Leave a Comment

I am excited to tell you that this Friday (7/29) I'll be talking with Ben Merens on his "At Issue" show, which airs daily on Wisconsin Public Radio.  I will be on from 5 to 6 pm. During the first half of the show Ben and I will talk about solace,  what it means and how we can find it.  The second half of the show features calls from listeners.  I am stoked about my day trip to Milwaukee and my conversation with Ben! … [Read more...]

Cookies

07/24/2011 By Ellen Beals 2 Comments

7/21 Event a Winner!

07/23/2011 By Ellen Beals

The readings began when Pat Rahmann, who is known for her plays and novels, gave us "Last Trip Together", a poem she told us, … [Read more...]

Cool Cat

07/23/2011 By Ellen Beals Leave a Comment

I have long admired the artwork of Florida-based artist Brendan Coudal.  When he posted this cartoon on Facebook, I asked if I could post it.  Currently he describes his work as "contemporary retro-style art." As he explains on his site, "I started painting relatively late in life, but always had an interest in art.   Shortly after September 11, 2001 (a time when many of us re-thought our lives), I picked up the paints my Dad had given me years earlier and created my first … [Read more...]
