I have been meaning to write a blog about Facebook for quite some time now, especially after I read Shawn Misener’s funny poem (see guest blog). I never thought I would be a booster for FB, but I am. Chicago Book Expo 2011
Weighed Words just signed on to participate in the Chicago Book Expo 2011 this weekend, November 19 and 20, at the Uptown Goldblatt's Building (formerly Border's Books), 4720 N. Broadway. Put on by the Chicago Writers House Project, the expo will showcase more than 40 Chicago fiction and poetry presses in this pop-up bookstore. I can't believe it's late September already. I love Fall and want to make it last. Already there is less than week left of September. E. As I write this I am thinking of Brent Calderwood -- tonight is his big night. Brent's poem, "The Golden Hour," has been selected by judge Mark Doty as winner of the Atlanta Queer Lit Broadside Contest. Brent will be accepting his award and reading his poem at annual festival's opening ceremony in Atlanta tonight (Friday, June 25) A broadside of the poem will be published by the festival and made available for sale.
