Glimpse of solace: the promise in a blossom

05/19/2015 By Ellen Beals Leave a Comment

I could tell you I’ve been working on a blog, but that wouldn’t be entirely true. Sure, I wrote one, but it has sat untouched for more than a week. Spring has interfered. So I will leave you with these two recent photos that promise of more to come. … [Read more...]

05/08/2015 By Ellen Beals 1 Comment

T. C. Boyle and a poem

04/30/2015 By Ellen Beals Leave a Comment

Howdy-do friends.  May tomorrow! May tomorrow bring you happiness. Solace in So Many Words has many fine contributors but not many have made the best-seller list yet, that is, except for T. C. Boyle. His  latest book The Harder They Come is  #3 on the Los Angeles Times Bestseller List. (BTW, it makes a great Mother’s Day present.) The Los Angeles Times gives out Book Prizes during its Festival of Books and on April 18,  T. Coraghessan Boyle took home the  Robert Kirsch … [Read more...]
