This is one of Chicago’s big literary weekends with Printers Row Lit Fest on June 7-8. It’s the the 30th anniversary of this celebration of the written word and this year’s featured authors include James Patterson, Marlo Thomas, Walter Mosley and many, many more. Words don’t fail me

Hiya. It's been 16 days since I last posted. Wish I could say there was a reason but . . . maybe there have been a couple, the first being that I have been unmotivated. Sometimes I feel like I am drowning in blather. FB, Twitter, email all bring me information that proves to be superfluous and sometimes distracting. Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day. This past week, the weather in Chicago has been extreme. Monday night we wore gloves. Thursday was in the 90s. The spring plants are late; some tulips just now blooming. The flowering trees are coming into their own. So far today’s weather in Chicago is near perfect. I know it’s been a while. Here’s some news. Kathleen Kirk has two poems and “If I Were the Cherry Wood Piano” and "The Body" in the latest issue of Rose Red Review. On April 16, Donna Hilbert’s poem “Gravity” was published on the Silver Birch site.
